Its operator has moved Ngorongoro Crater Camp to a new site within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and redesigned it, per the operator's announcement. The camp now stands on a hillside with views over the Serengeti plains rather than on its former site. The facts below are those published on A&K's own pages; Sail Safaris DMC reconfirms each one before the camp enters a proposal.
- Operator
- A&K Sanctuary (Abercrombie & Kent)
- Position
- A new elevated hillside site within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with views over the Serengeti plains, per A&K's announcement and stay page
- Crater access
- About 25 minutes from the crater descent road, per A&K's announcement
- Suites
- Ten newly built tented suites, each with a private deck over the plains, for up to 20 guests, per A&K's stay page
- Getting there
- By light aircraft, then a drive of about 2 hours from Manyara Airstrip or 1 hour 20 minutes from Ndutu Airstrip, per A&K's stay page; A&K says the site suits fly-in and overland routes
- Activities listed
- Crater game drives, visits to the Ndutu plains, Nasera rock, the Shifting Sands and Olduvai Gorge Museum, and Maasai community visits, per A&K's stay page
Older descriptions of the camp refer to its former site. The rates shown lower on this page are from our approved rate file and are reconfirmed with A&K Sanctuary before any proposal. Sail Safaris DMC does not hold inventory at the camp.
