The full profile
Read the stay beyond the name.
Every recommendation is shaped around the real room, atmosphere, experiences and logistics, not reputation alone.
01Accommodation & suites
Three double rooms each have a seating area and an en-suite bathroom beneath thatch. The family room has two double beds on separate rollout platforms and a bathroom reached by a short covered walkway. Rooms can take an additional single bed, but that extra bed does not roll outside. Bathrooms have plumbed showers, basins and flush toilets; the experience remains open to the surrounding landscape.
02Atmosphere
The room platforms follow the rocks rather than enclosing guests within conventional hotel walls. Views look over a valley and a waterhole, and the lounge has a log fire for evenings together. Samburu and Laikipiak Maasai hosts are part of the camp's character. Choose it for that close relationship with the outdoors and its small, sociable scale.
03Experiences
Loisaba offers wildlife drives, guided walks, camel outings, riding and guided cycling. Horse riding calls for an appropriate level of experience. Seasonal fishing depends on rainfall, and an anti-poaching dog-team visit can add context to the conservancy stay. Game Package and Full Board have different activity inclusions, so select the board basis around what you actually want to do.
04Dining & wellness
Shared dinners and drinks around the lounge fire make meals part of the small-camp atmosphere. Full Board includes the daily meals, selected drinks and laundry set out in the tariff; Game Package adds the specified safari activities and airstrip transfers. Bush meals and sundowners should be arranged with the team. The main attraction here is outdoor living and activity rather than a conventional resort routine.
05Family suitability
The family room provides two double beds on separate platforms. Consider whether that open-air arrangement suits your children before choosing it. The Family Suite rate is a unit total for two adults and two children. Horse and camel safaris have a minimum age of 12 for these bookings, while guided walking has stricter age and guide-discretion requirements.
06Access
Fly to Loisaba airstrip on a scheduled service or private charter and arrange the onward camp transfer. Elewana describes the drive as about 15 minutes. The Game Package includes the designated airstrip transfer, whereas Full Board lists it separately. Road connections with other northern Kenya properties can be arranged, but their duration should be checked before combining them in a short itinerary.
