The shape of the journey
Unhurried, with three distinct wildlife chapters and one city
Day by day
Day 1 · Kigali
Kigali is met first as a city, not a transit point. Where timing allows, a visit to the Genocide Memorial is paced with care and followed by quiet. The handover to the road north is precise, and the first evening stays unhurried.
Days 2 to 3 · Akagera
Akagera is Rwanda's restoration story: lakes, papyrus and open plains where lion, rhino and elephant have returned. Game drives on the northern plains and a boat on Lake Ihema make a distinct wildlife chapter before the mountains.
Days 4 to 6 · Volcanoes
Three nights beneath the Virunga volcanoes are built around one hour with a gorilla family, with a porter, a ranger briefing and the morning allocation handled carefully. The other days hold golden monkeys, a village walk or nothing at all, so the encounter has room to settle.
Days 7 to 9 · Nyungwe
Nyungwe is montane forest, tea country and primate diversity: chimpanzee tracking at first light, the canopy walkway and thirteen primate species in the trees. Three nights allow the forest to be more than one morning.
Day 10 · Kigali
The last night is protected in Kigali so the international connection never depends on a mountain road in the dark. There is time for a final meal, a gallery or nothing at all.
Day 11 · Departure
A private transfer to the airport with time in hand. International departure timing is checked against the live schedule before anything is confirmed.
Two expressions, one journey
