The shape of the journey
Unhurried, with two-night chapters and one long forest stay
Day by day
Day 1 · Entebbe
Your Sail host meets you at Entebbe and the first evening is kept deliberately light: a garden, the lake, an early night. Nothing about the journey begins on the road before the body has arrived.
Days 2 to 3 · Jinja
Follow the river east to Jinja for context and movement: the source of the Nile, a river cruise at dusk and, for those who want it, the rapids. Two nights introduce the river the journey will meet again at Murchison.
Days 4 to 5 · Murchison Falls
Read the river from the escarpment to the delta: a dawn drive across the northern bank, a boat to the base of the falls, and time at the top where the Nile squeezes through the rock. The programme is sequenced around river light and the chosen bank.
Days 6 to 7 · Kibale
Move from savannah scale into the sound of Kibale. A ranger-led chimpanzee tracking morning is the centre of the stay; the rest is crater lakes, forest edge and the kind of afternoon that asks nothing of you. Trekking options are matched to age, mobility and how deep you want to go.
Days 8 to 10 · Bwindi
Travel to the Bwindi sector tied to your confirmed permit and give the encounter time on both sides. One morning is the trek, with a porter and a ranger briefing; the others are forest walks, the Batwa community or an afternoon with no plan. Recovery is designed in, not left to chance.
Day 11 · Departure
A private transfer to the airport closes the journey, timed with margin rather than haste.
Two expressions, one journey
The Most Exclusive Addresses and the Distinguished Camps and Lodges preserve the same route, purpose and Sail operating standard. The expression changes the addresses, never the soul of the journey. Every property is a current decision set, not guaranteed inventory; availability, opening and access are confirmed live.

A Sail planning perspective
Gorilla trekking has a minimum age of fifteen. For younger families Sail designs the Bwindi days so adults trek while children have their own forest programme at the lodge, and confirms every permit name before booking.
Every final journey is built around confirmed availability, the current season, your preferred pace and the character of places you want to stay. No fixed departure or price is implied by this sample.
