The shape of the journey
Unhurried and water-led, with early departures and empty afternoons
Day by day
Days 1 to 3 · Matemwe
An honest shore base at Matemwe gives repeated early departures to the Mnemba water: guided reef snorkelling when the light and tide agree, dolphins on some mornings, and afternoons that belong to the village shore.
Days 4 to 5 · Chumbe
Chumbe is a coral park first and a place to sleep second: a protected reef, a forest walk with the rangers, and bungalows built to take nothing from the island. Two nights is the right length.
Day 6 · Departure
A private transfer to the airport closes the journey, timed with margin rather than haste.
Two expressions, one journey
The Most Exclusive Addresses and the Distinguished Camps and Lodges preserve the same route, purpose and Sail operating standard. The expression changes the addresses, never the soul of the journey. Every property is a current decision set, not guaranteed inventory; availability, opening and access are confirmed live.

A Sail planning perspective
Reef visibility follows the wind and the season; June to October and January to February are the most reliable. Chumbe takes a small number of guests and books early.
