The shape of the journey
Unhurried, with five landscapes joined by short roads and one flight
Day by day
Day 1 · Entebbe
Your Sail host meets you at Entebbe and the first evening is kept deliberately light: a garden, the lake, an early night. Nothing about the journey begins on the road before the body has arrived.
Days 2 to 3 · Murchison Falls
Read the river from the escarpment to the delta: a dawn drive across the northern bank, a boat to the base of the falls, and time at the top where the Nile squeezes through the rock. The programme is sequenced around river light and the chosen bank.
Days 4 to 5 · Kibale
Move from savannah scale into the sound of Kibale. A ranger-led chimpanzee tracking morning is the centre of the stay; the rest is crater lakes, forest edge and the kind of afternoon that asks nothing of you. Trekking options are matched to age, mobility and how deep you want to go.
Day 6 · Queen Elizabeth
Water, crater lakes and open plains form the bridge south. A launch on the Kazinga Channel brings hippo, elephant and birdlife to within metres; game drives read the Kasenyi plains at dawn. The lodge position depends on whether the route continues by road or air.
Day 7 · Queen Elizabeth
A night in the southern Ishasha sector slows the journey before the forest closes around it: open savannah, fig-tree lion country and a shorter road into Bwindi the next morning. Sightings are likely, never promised.
Days 8 to 10 · Bwindi
Travel to the Bwindi sector tied to your confirmed permit and give the encounter time on both sides. One morning is the trek, with a porter and a ranger briefing; the others are forest walks, the Batwa community or an afternoon with no plan. Recovery is designed in, not left to chance.
Day 11 · Departure
The journey closes with the Kihihi to Entebbe flight and a private transfer to the international departure, timed with margin rather than haste.
Two expressions, one journey
The Most Exclusive Addresses and the Distinguished Camps and Lodges preserve the same route, purpose and Sail operating standard. The expression changes the addresses, never the soul of the journey. Every property is a current decision set, not guaranteed inventory; availability, opening and access are confirmed live.

Permit dates set the sequence. Sail secures the Bwindi permit first, then places the chimpanzee morning and the Ishasha night around it, and reconfirms road times before the final proposal.
